The Barry Chess Club meets on a Monday at the Barry West End Club, St Nicholas Road, Barry, CF62 6QY at 7:30pm.
The club has been in existence for many years and has been set up to promote and encourage the game of chess in the Barry area.
The club is open to players of any age or any standard.
We currently have 5 teams that play in the East Glamorgan League. Full details of fixtures and results can also be found on the league website - https://egca.yolasite.com/. We take part in various club competitions, Welsh Chess Competitions (see http://www.welshchessunion.uk/ for details) and EGCA cup competitions as well as running informal matches and training sessions. Many of these games are rated and full details can be found under the heading Ratings on both this site and the EGCA site above.
Our membership fee is £35 per adult and £10 per junior (under 18 as at 1st September). This fee incorporates the Barry Chess Club fee, East Glamorgan Chess Association membership fee, Welsh Chess Union membership fee and West End Club fee.
